Case Study
Ken Jones Photography
Image creation, photography, video, visual storytelling, and brand asset production.
Project Snapshot
Overview
What the project needed to make clear.
Ken Jones Photography is one of FultonStudio’s most personal case studies because it comes from my own business.
The original photography site had years of history behind it. It carried fashion, beauty, corporate, commercial, studio, and video-related work, and for a long time it performed very well in Google search.
But the old site was built on an outdated Joomla system, and over time that foundation became a problem. The new site needed more than a visual refresh. It needed a safer, lighter, cleaner platform that could protect the brand, rebuild search visibility, and still carry the strong editorial style of the photography work.
This rebuild became a reminder that a website is not only about how it looks. The structure, security, backups, content, and long-term maintenance matter just as much.
Challenge
The old Ken Jones Photography site had strong visual identity and years of search value, but it was built on an aging Joomla platform.
That created a major risk.
The site eventually had to be taken down because the old system was no longer secure enough to trust. It was a hard lesson, but an important one: a website can look good and still be weak underneath.
The challenge was not simply to redesign the site. The real challenge was to rebuild the foundation.
The new site needed to preserve the recognizable Ken Jones Photography look while becoming more secure, easier to manage, lighter in structure, and better prepared for long-term search recovery.
It also had to organize a large body of photography and video work without becoming overwhelming.
Strategy
The strategy was to rebuild Ken Jones Photography as a cleaner, safer, more modern photography platform while keeping the visual strength of the original brand.
The old site had a bold editorial feel, and that needed to stay. The difference was that the new site needed a stronger technical core, better backups, improved security, cleaner pages, and a more focused content structure.
Because the original site had ranked well for years, the rebuild also had to respect SEO. The goal was not to stuff the pages with keywords, but to write in a clearer voice while still using important search phrases around corporate headshots, commercial photography, fashion photography, beauty photography, studio work, and video production.
The site also needed to be easier for visitors to understand. Someone looking for corporate headshots should find that quickly. Someone looking for fashion, beauty, commercial work, studio rental, or video production should also have a clear path.
Result
The new Ken Jones Photography site is now built around a stronger foundation.
It is lighter, more secure, easier to manage, and more aligned with the current direction of the brand. The photography remains the center of the experience, but the structure behind it is cleaner and safer.
This is also an active SEO recovery case study. The original site had years of page-one visibility before it went down. The new version is being rebuilt with the goal of earning that visibility back through stronger content, better structure, better service pages, and a more secure platform.
The site is not just a redesign. It is a rebuild of trust, search value, and long-term stability.
Work Completed
What FultonStudio changed.
FultonStudio rebuilt the direction of the Ken Jones Photography site around a lighter, cleaner, and more secure structure.
The content was reorganized so the major services were easier to understand. The visual presentation was updated to feel more professional while still keeping the bold photography-driven style of the older site.
The rebuild also placed more attention on security and backup planning. After dealing with the problems of an outdated platform, the new site needed stronger protection, better recovery options, and a more dependable foundation.
The site was also treated as an SEO recovery project. The goal was to help the brand regain search visibility over time by rebuilding the structure, improving the page language, and creating clearer service-based content.
Before-and-after images can help show the difference between the older site style and the cleaner new direction.
Project Images
Before, after, and supporting visuals.
A tighter image grid keeps the page clean. Captions open inside the lightbox instead of crowding the thumbnail layout.
